Periods
These women approach their monthly periods with little to no sanitary resources and another horror they face is not even knowing when it'll come in order for them to be prepared for it. The reason is that since they don't have enough money to keep a regular healthy diet, they don't get the nutrients they need and this causes them to have irregular periods or not have them at all. These women do not eagerly look forward to menstruating each month, especially with its painful side effects like cramps and migraines. Unfortunately, there aren't many places for women to wash and clean themselves up and this is an issue. The problem is that periods are still so taboo, which means not many people are talking about it, and women don't have many options to turn to. It's survival of the fittest: a woman can't pee behind a tree like a man can, a woman gets her period and it's hard for her to wash up. If she is a heavier woman, she can develop skin infections and will not have the right medications to treat them.

Prostitution
Being alone and with nowhere to go home to is bad enough and the need for money forces these ladies to take desperate measures. Homeless women always see prostitution as a way to start living and get on their feet again. This can be a solution, but the mental and emotional cost is incredible. The shame, the risk of being beaten, raped and killed is higher than living on the street. These women are literally selling themselves to strangers and abuse. Their desperation is so big, that in the moment they don't think of the consequences and simply see it as an "easy way" to make money. Also, women who insist wearing condoms while engaging in sexual relationships, get paid less than those who don't wear condoms, which leads to a higher risk of HIV and AIDS. Their ultimate sacrifice is giving up their body to be treated in unloving and harmful ways.
Desire to Be Loved
Women have different needs than men, which can lead to various disadvantages in their lives. Homeless women have the necessity to be protected and loved by a man that they even undergo abuse. These women prefer the predictability on one man's violence than the unpredictability of street violence. More than 90% of homeless women in the United States have experienced sexual and physical abuse through these relationships. As humans, we all desire love and crave affection and this is their way of getting these human needs. They want to build relationships and bonds, and by unfolding themselves to abusive partners, they fulfill their last hopes of building a home, but unfortunately in unhealthy and insolent relationships. Not only do women want to be attracted to other for love, but they're not as strong as men so they want to be personal with somebody that represents safety to them. They want someone to warn off attackers, help them carry their belongings, and someone that will protect them wherever they go.
Drug Addictions
Single homeless women are usually drug addicts and that is mostly the reason why they are homeless. This makes them more vulnerable to murder and sexual assault because they will literally do anything for that extra fix they can't get unattached to. They leads them to make money in shameful ways if they are forced to.
Sexual Harassment
In our realistic world, women are unfortunately weaker than men and smaller in size, making them less able to survive on the streets of high crime cities in America. Living a homeless life in solitude is more dreadful for women because there are high rates of sexual violence and cruelty attacking them every single day. Both men and women are vulnerable to sexual harassment, but men have a higher chance of fighting back aggressively, while most of the time, women don't posses that strength to fight off unwanted attention.
